In a sleepy little corner of Yaletown, the perpetually drizzly city of Vancouver, what could be the most important sports game of next year is quietly being assembled.
Yes, I have played the game. Yes, I have met the nice people who are building the game. Yes, the game is looking excellent so far.
You see, it’s easy to dismiss ModNation as just another kart racing game. Or worse, as a poor man's Mario Kart. (Though the Sports Gamer does enjoy his Mario Kart.)
I'm here to tell you that ModNation is so much more than that.

If you're a video game fan, this was a year to remember. Then again, last year was pretty good, too. Wait a second...the year before last year was pretty good also. Man, do we live in a golden age of video games or what?
Let’s move on. This year's list gives you a nice overview of the bounty of terrific games we got to play in 2009. Look for some comebacks, some upsets, and a surprise return to form for one of sports gaming's oldest franchises. (See: Number 8). Keep reading to see my top 11!

Fact: I play a lot of Wii games. And, while I do like the fact that you can turn the Wii remote sideways and use the D-pad and 1 and 2 buttons, I don't always feel that playing this way gives me enough fine-tuned control during my most hectic gaming moments. NEW WII CONTROLLER IS "THE B.O.S.S." 2
