It’s not easy to get one past Fiona. As a defender for the Eclipse Select girls’ team, she helped her squad to a Number 1 national ranking and a spot in the Elite Club National League national championships, which will be held in July. Fiona is also an accomplished ice hockey player for the Chicago Mission U16 girls’ team. She finished the season with 13 goals and nine assists. With soccer, hockey, and school, Fiona has a lot to juggle. “It can be hectic and time consuming, but it’s what I love to do,” she says. “And I have a lot of fun when I’m around my teammates.”
Matthew, a senior brown belt, won gold in the sparring and free design form competitions at the Birmingham regional taekwondo championships in March. He also took home silver in the traditional form contest. When he’s not competing in taekwondo, Matthew plays football and baseball.
Ruben, an honor roll student, is a level 7 regional and national champion in trampoline and tumbling. In 2009, he received a perfect score on the vault at the Las Vegas Black Jack meet and was also a level 6 gold medalist in trampoline and tumbling at the Junior Olympics.
Last year Jameson was selected from 150 boys to receive one of five scholarships to the John McEnroe Tennis Academy. In December he won the boys’ 10-and-under tournament at the Broward Local Holiday Classic. He then went on to win the Halpatiokee Park junior local tournament in March.
