Tess flies high on the slopes. In 2011, she was the top skier (ages six to 13) in the Rocky Mountain Freestyle Devo Series. She won all seven events, including the Mogul Championships at Telluride in March. The secret to her success? "In my head I visualize a good, solid performance," says Tess, who will compete against teens and 20-year-olds this season. "Then I remind myself: keep my hands in front, chin up, stay balanced, and have fun."
In July, Lane won the Southern Regional Waterski overall championship in his age group for the second consecutive year. He also pitches, catches, and plays centerfield for the West Raleigh 9U All-Stars and led his team in RBIs and stolen bases this summer.
Evan is powering his way through the competition. After setting nine world powerlifting records at this year's AAU Junior Olympic Games, he won two gold medals at the USA Powerlifting Bench Press Nationals. Evan holds 28 world records and is also a black belt in taekwondo.
Courtney is the junior national champion in the 200-meter butterfly and is ranked 12th in the nation (all age groups) in the event. Courtney also qualified for the Olympic Trials in the 100m and 200m butterfly and won the 50m, 100m, and 200m butterfly at the 2011 YMCA Nationals.
