10 Questions With...Dwight Howard
Orlando Magic star Dwight Howard is always animated on the court. Now, he’s an actual animated character on TV. Howard joins the cast of Disney XD’s cartoon series Kick Buttowski, playing Kick’s idol, movie star Rock Callahan. Howard, who makes his debut in the season premiere on April 30, stepped out of (cartoon) character to take on our questionnaire. Keep reading to see how he did!
What time is your alarm set for?
9 o’clock.
Chocolate, Vanilla, or Strawberry ice cream?
Chocolate and Strawberry mixed.
What was your childhood nickname?
They used to call me Big Slim.
If you weren’t an athlete, what would you want to do?
If I wasn’t an athlete I would want to be an actor.
Why do you wear the jersey number you do?
My dad was number 12, my mom was 24, so that’s the difference between those numbers. And also, two of my favorite basketball players [Kevin Garnett and Tim Duncan] were 21, so I wanted to be the reverse, 12.
What is your favorite city to compete in?
That’s a good question, I like playing in every arena. Sacramento is fun. I really like the fans there. It’s a fun place to play. It’s always so animated there. It’s like an old arena, you definitely have that feeling that everyone is right there with you on the court. It’s a lot of fun.
What do you do on days off?
On days off I usually sleep, might go to the movies, try to find someplace nice to eat. I just play video games.
Who is the greatest athlete of all-time?
I’m going to have to go with Muhammad Ali.
Who is your best friend in sports?
Josh Powell, he plays for the [Atlanta] Hawks.
What is the last item that you purchased?
Cologne. Bond No. 9, Chinatown.
