Check out Carmelo Anthony's new Jordan Brand sneaker, the Melo M9

Carmelo Anthony's newest signature sneaker, the Jordan MeloM9, was released on Wednesday. Weighing in at 13 ounces, it is the lightest Jordan Melo ever. Straps made of Nike's Flywire technology lock the foot in (and also spell out an M for Melo on the sides).

"I love the idea of being locked in, whether I’m on the perimeter or making a move in the post,” Anthony said. "I want to protect my ankles while not restricting my cutting ability. After working closely with the Jordan Brand team during development stages, the JORDAN MELOM9 fits my game perfectly."

The inspiration for the kicks came from Melo's love of luxury watches and he also wanted a shoe that reminded him of a superhero costume.

The Jordan MeloM9 will sell for $140 and is available nationwide now. See more colorways of the shoe after the jump.
