Bauer Lets Goaltenders Unleash Their Inner Jedi (or Sith)

Need a little help in the crease? Then unleash your inner Jedi (or Dark Lord of the Sith) with Bauer's new headgear. Yesterday the hockey equipment giant debuted five Star Wars-inspired goalie masks featuring some of the most popular characters in the series: Luke Skywalker, Yoda, BobaFett, Clone Troopers, and, of course, Darth Vader.

The Star Wars artwork is on Bauer's NME3 mask, which is built with a polycarbonate shell, dual density liner, and carbon steel round wire cage. And it makes a lot of sense to pair the characters from a galaxy far, far away with a game in our solar system. Goalie mask art is meant, in part, to intimidate opposing shooters, and some of these are downright fierce, like Yoda lunging off the side of one mask and the bounty hunter Boba Fett firing up his jetpack in a sea of fire.
