The Goal Heard 'Round the World (Cup)

I am supposed to be a writer, but I have no words for this.

I feel like I should talk about how many chances team USA had to score in their pivotal match again Algeria.

But all I want to say is WOOOOOOOHOOOOOOO!

I should probably mention that Landon Donovan’s winner was the latest World Cup goal in US history. That he not only won the match and the group but solidified himself as one of the greatest US athletes ever.

But all I want to do is run around in my number 10 jersey and yell USA! USA! USA!

I want to think about how important this win is for the US. How it redeems all the hard work the players have put in, all the time spent in clubs around the world, all the miles traveled to play as many different international matches as possible.

But I just want to jump up and down and scream YESSSSSSSSSSSSS!

It would be worth it to mention how the US battled back for the second game in a row. How they overcame a terrible offsides call and a number of missed fouls by Algerian players. How they once again showed the importance of playing hard every single minute.

But I am not going to say that. Instead I am going to say:

USA RULES!!!!! WE ARE THE BEST!!!! JUST TRY AND STOP US!!!! LANDON DONOVAN IS A NATIONAL HERO!!!!! THAT WAS AN AWESOME AWESOME GAME!!!!! BRING ON THE ROUND OF 16!!!!!
