After a summer dominated by talk of deflated footballs and lawsuits and missing cell phones, Tom Brady hit the field for the 2015 season with a something to prove. And that's been bad news for the rest of the NFL. The 38-year-old quarterback has led the Patriots to a 3-0 start, with the team outscoring its opponents 119-70, including a 51-17 destruction of the Jaguars Sunday.

While New England has a lot to be happy about heading into the bye week, Brady has extra reason to celebrate. A 1-yard pass to Danny Amendola late in the second quarter Sunday was Brady's 400th career touchdown. (He threw number 401 in the third.) He's only the fourth quarterback in NFL history to reach the milestone. The others are Peyton Manning (533), Brett Favre (508) and Dan Marino (420).

"I've been a part of so many great teams and played with so many great players," Brady said after the game. I've always said, 'I don't care whether we run it in or throw it in, as long as we score points and are winning, it makes it fun for me.' I was happy. It's still early, there's a lot to improve on. We have a break here, and we come back to work and see if we can make some improvements and try to get to 4-0."

Brady is 19 behind Marino on the all-time list. He's already thrown seven touchdowns this year, so it's a good bet he'll pass the Dolphins legend before season's over.

"For me personally, he's the best quarterback to ever play this game," LeGarrette Blount said. "It's an honor to be out there and play with him. There aren't a lot of guys who can say that, but it's crazy to be playing with the best quarterback to ever play the game, and he's not done."

That's good news for the Patriots and their fans — and very, very bad news for the rest of the league.
