The Charlotte Hornets are back! The team that's currently called the Bobcats will be renamed the Hornets for the 2014-2015 NBA season. Team owner Michael Jordan made the announcement during halftime of the Bobcats-Jazz game on Saturday. "You guys asked and we delivered," Jordan told fans.

The team made the return of the Hornets official with one of the most intense announcement videos ever made. If you aren't already excited about this name change, you will be after you watch this:

The original Charlotte Hornets entered the league in 1988, but they moved to New Orleans before the 2002 season. The team was called the New Orleans Hornets until this season, when it became the Pelicans. The team currently called the Bobcats entered the NBA in 2004. It's sort of like what happened in Cleveland in the NFL: The Browns moved to Baltimore to become the Ravens, but the NFL granted Cleveland an expansion team that was then called the Browns.

The difference here is that the Hornets name went to New Orleans with the team. But when the Hornets became the Pelicans this season, the Bobcats decided to ask for the Hornets name back. They went to the NBA for permission to change the name — the league owned the name once the Hornets became the Pelicans — and over the summer the NBA agreed. And after Saturday's reveal, Charlotte is once again Buzz City.

The new-look Hornets crest is way more intense than the cartoony one from the original Hornets days. But compare that original logo to the new image of Hugo the Hornet and there's definitely a connection there:

There's a whole lot more about the new Hornets logo on the team's website. Check it out and let us know in the comments section what you think of the Bobcats becoming the Hornets!
