As of yesterday the new collective bargaining agreement (CBA) has been ratified, officially ending the fourth lockout in the history of the NBA! The shortened NBA season will now consist of 66 games instead of the 82 originally planned for a normal season.

After five months, the long-awaited end of the lockout is here. With the games starting on December 25, the Opening Day Christmas gift will never be forgotten. With the five-month term, this lockout had become the second longest in league history, following the almost seven-month lockout of 1998-99.

With the tension of dissolving, fans can expect much from the shortened season. With the regular season ending April 26, and only 119 days to play, this season will be packed with action and suspense. I can only wonder how epic it will be. With so many games in such a short period of time, I wonder how fans and players will take it. Will they be overwhelmed?

The holiday revelry will kick off at noon ET on TNT with the New York Knicks and Boston Celtics as the first game of the season at Madison Square Garden.

Who do you think will win? Let the games begin!
