Can you guess who these two sisters are? Yes, they are Venus and Serena Williams, two of the most influential and best players in tennis.

Earlier today, Serena pulled off a major victory against Elena Dementieva of Russia, the tournament’s Number 4 seed. In an intense three-set match, Serena used her best weapon, her serve, to finish off Dementieva: 6-7 (4), 7-5, 8-6. With a total of 20 aces, Serena showed that coming from behind to win is possible.

Venus destroyed Number 1 seed Dinara Safina, 6-1, 6-0. She is going for her third straight Wimbledon win.

If you recall, Venus actually beat her sister last year in the Wimbledon Finals in straight sets. So who will win?

Both are amazing athletes. Serena has immense power when she serves, but sometimes she misses easy shots. Venus is more consistent with her strokes. How do you think it would feel to be playing against your sibling for such a large achievement in front of so many people?

Serena and Venus clearly have a great relationship. They play women’s doubles with each other, and are the defending champions at Wimbledon. Playing against your sibling must be bittersweet. If I were Venus, I would want to prove that I am good enough to beat my younger sister, and I would feel the same if I was Serena, except I would be defeating my older sister.

The difficult part of playing against a family member is that you have to face that person all the time, knowing that you just had a significant match against them. The good thing about the Williams sisters is that they are great sports and they won’t hold grudges against each other.

No matter what happens, and no matter how many times they are compared to each other, Venus and Serena will be known as two tennis greats.
