Texas Tech eliminated No. 1 Florida from the College World Series on Tuesday.
Florida, the No. 1 overall seed in the tournament, lost in tough fashion to the Red Raiders, mounting a ninth inning comeback that fell just short.
Texas Tech led 3–0 heading into the bottom of the ninth, picking up what turned out to be a crucial insurance run in the top half of the inning. The Gators pulled within one thanks to a two-run home run from Peter Alonso, but ultimately lost when Jonathan India tried stretching a single into a double with two outs.
The Red Raiders will now face the loser of TCU and Coastal Carolina in their next game.
