Carolina Hurricanes Unveil New Jerseys



This afternoon, the Carolina Hurricanes unveiled a new look for the team's uniforms at an event at PNC Arena in Raleigh, North Carolina. The Hurricanes will take the ice in the 2013-14 season with new home and away jerseys for the first time in its 15-year history. The new designs retain the team's logo but strip down the look of the sweaters.

The change most hockey fans will notice right away is that the Hurricanes' signature warning flag striping at the bottom of the sweaters has been replaced with solid white striping in the home jerseys and red striping in the away sweaters. But the warning flag isn't totally gone — it's now located on the inner collar of the jersey. Another change: patches are out, and laces on the home jersey are in. And while the Hurricanes' logo hasn't changed, how it is designed on the jersey has: It was designed to be lighter, more flexible, and more resistant to moisture.
