30th Anniversary All-Derby Team

This year marks three decades since Dave Parker outslugged a field of five Hall of Famers to win the inaugural Home Run Derby at the old Metrodome in Minneapolis. To celebrate, Kid Reporter Patrick Andres has put together a “Dream Derby” of eight of the finest sluggers in the history of the event.

Five-time Home Run Derby participant; 2010 champion

Eight-time Home Run Derby participant; three-time champion (also competed with Reds)

Two-time Home Run Derby participant; two-time champion

Participated in the Home Run Derby just once, in 2008, but set a record with 28 homers in one round

Six-time Home Run Derby participant; two-time champion (also competed with Tigers and Rangers)

Four-time Home Run Derby participant (also competed with Angels)

Participated in just one Home Run Derby, in 2005, but bashed a record 41 homers, more than in any of his seasons as a player

Two-time Home Run Derby participant; won first-ever Derby in 1985
