Phil Jackson was named among the 10 greatest NBA coaches in history, but it could be argued that he's simply the greatest. After winning two championships as a player, Jackson won a record 11 titles as a coach -- including three three-peats -- and holds the best all-time winning percentage (.704) of any NBA coach across multiple seasons. Since his first year as head coach, with the 1989-90 Chicago Bulls, Jackson racked up 1,155 wins over 20 seasons, all of which were winning seasons. But perhaps his greatest skill was one that cannot be quantified or measured: his ability to manage superstars and complementary players, whether it was with the Michael Jordan-led Bulls, or the Lakers with Kobe and Shaq.But after 20 years at the helm, the Zen Master is expected to call it quits, and not on terms he had hoped. His two-time champion Lakers, on a quest to bring Jackson his fourth three-peat, were swept by Dallas in the 2011 Western Conference semifinals, ending their triumphant run in a less-than-stellar fashion. Jackson, 65, didn't go out on top, but his coaching resume is one that won't be topped anytime soon. Even after the Bulls won their sixth championship in eight years, the coach turned down an offer from Bulls chairman Jerry Reinsdorf to coach for one more season.
