The 1984 MLB All-Star Game, played at San Francisco's Candlestick Park, was the 55th midseason contest between the two leagues. Behind the strong pitching of Dwight Gooden and Fernando Valenzuela, the NL cruised to a 3-1 victory. SI was on hand to shoot the action and here are some never-before-seen photos from the game.
