Sled Hockey
Sled hockey was designed to allow participants who have a physical disability to play the game of ice hockey, including veterans from the Iraq and Afghanistan wars. The players consist of individuals who have sustained spinal cord injuries, amputations, spina bifida etc.... This game requires players to sit in a sled that has blades on the frame and allows the puck to pass underneath. Players also have two shortened sticks that they use to not only push themselves along the ice, but it also allows them the ability to pass and shoot the puck as well.
