Steve McNair: 1973-2009


Noted for his toughness and durability, Steve McNair was one of the NFL's most respected players.

McNair starred for the Titans from 1997 to 2005 and became one of the NFL's premier quarterbacks.

On May 18, 2004, Steve McNair said "I feel like Tiger Woods" as he kisses the Associated Press NFL Most Valuable Player trophy.

McNair, a four-time Pro Bowler, led the Titans within a yard of forcing overtime in the 2000 Super Bowl, which they lost 23-16 to the St. Louis Rams.

McNair's career began with the Houston Oilers, who later became the Tennessee Titans.

Steve McNair's 13-year NFL career ended in 2007 after a two-season stint with the Baltimore Ravens.
