In each issue of Sports Illustrated Kids, we feature three kids who excel in sports, does well in school, and gives back to the community. These young athletes do it all — on and off the field! Meet this month’s SportsKids of the Month!
Jordan Kennedy, 8
Bakersfield, CA
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu
At the North American Grappling Association's west coast championship, Jordan went 28--0 in her final match, winning her first title in the Girls GI beginner division. She was then promoted from white belt to gray.
Lola Possick, 10
Weehawken, NJ
Fencing
In 2015, Lola won the Y-10 women's sabre national title at the USA Fencing National Championships & July Challenge. The fifth-grader is currently ranked 10th in the country in the Y-12 women's sabre division.
Owen Petrisek, 13
Ellsworth, PA
Football
Owen led the Bentworth Bearcats to a 20--0 win over the Jefferson-Morgan Rockets in his first middle school game. The wide receiver caught a 55-yard TD pass and rushed for 156 yards. He also had one sack.
