Tuesday Afterschool Special: New NFL Year's Eve
DeMarco Murray to the Titans
Tomorrow afternoon marks the beginning of the new NFL year, when teams can officially sign and trade for new players. One deal we already know will happen tomorrow is the Eagles trading running back DeMarco Murray to the Titans. Murray signed a five-year, $40 million contract with Philly last year after a 2014 in which he lead the league in rushing yards (1845) and rushing touchdowns (13). But things didn't go according to plan, as he struggled to transition to then-head coach Chip Kelly's offense, rushing for just 702 yards.
Now Kelly is gone, and along with him go many of his biggest acquisitions, including Murray, cornerback Byron Maxwell, and linebacker Kiko Alonso. For the Titans, they have to hope Murray regains form and takes pressure off second-year QB Marcus Mariota.
